Indicative result

Enter at least one course

Pick a grade and credit hours.

How it works

Each letter grade maps to a number of grade points. Multiply by credit hours, sum the totals, then divide by total credits to get GPA.

Worked example

A (4.0) × 3 credits + B (3.0) × 4 credits = (12 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.43 GPA.

Who should use this

  • US/Canadian students
  • UK students applying to US universities
  • Anyone tracking weighted academic performance

Common mistakes

  • ×Confusing weighted (out of 5.0) with unweighted (out of 4.0)
  • ×Forgetting that pass/fail courses don't count toward GPA

Frequently asked questions

Is this weighted or unweighted?

Unweighted. Honors / AP courses use a different (5.0-scale) calculation.
